Do you want to build a snowman? Well winter has arrived here in Crested Butte! Get yourself and your kiddos ready for fun activities and of course plenty of snow! Many of these options are available for visitors and are a great way for the entire family to enjoy their time in Crested Butte.

The Adaptive Sports Center enhances the quality of life of people with disabilities through exceptional outdoor adventure activities. The successful programs the ASC provides are inclusive to families and friends, empower our participants in their daily lives and have a positive enduring effect on self-efficacy, health, independence and overall well-being. Anyone with a disability can participate. Our participants range from the advanced athlete looking to develop new skills and accomplish new goals to the never-ever looking to experience a new adventure. Either way, our guides and instructors are qualified to help you reach your goals.
Located at the heart of CBMR’s base area, the Adventure Park is the perfect place for kids to act like kids, and adults to act like kids. Featuring bungy trampolines and a climbing pinnacle, there is something for the whole family. Each activity is located within steps of the slopes and just beside the Butte 66 restaurant, so when the adults are resting their legs and grabbing a bite to eat, the kids can expel some additional energy under their parents’ watchful eye.
There isn’t much more of a wilderness experience than being pulled by a team of dogs through the snow filled Rocky Mountains. Both kids and adults can enjoy this unique experience. There are a couple of dog-sled tour operators in the area that offer half and full day adventures you won’t soon forget. Some tours start in nearby Slate River Valley or Washington Gulch.
Ice skating is one of those fun and festive winter time activities that you can really enjoy in Crested Butte. There are a few options in the area to get your fix with outdoor rinks. And if you’re an ice hockey fan, be sure to check out the town league for regularly scheduled games.

Crested Butte Nordic is one of the premier cross-country ski destinations in the country. Located in Crested Butte, Colorado, we groom 50 km. of trails for classic skiing, skate skiing, and snowshoeing. Our world-class trail system is accessible right from town; no driving required. We rent equipment, as well as offer ski lessons, backcountry tours, fun events, and fine dining at our trail-side yurt.
The Center is home to popular signature events and a wide variety of indoor and outdoor attractions. Visitors young and old enjoy a year-round schedule of live music, dance and theater performances as well as art exhibits, speakers and much more. For more than 20 years, The Center has been committed to providing arts and cultural experiences that inspire and entertain all audiences, whether they call Crested Butte home everyday or just for the weekend.

Fantasy Ranch now has a new way to enjoy horses. During the ski season we are offering a 30 sleigh ride at the Almont Resort. Tours are available most days at 11:00a.m and 12:00. This is a private one horse open sleigh ride through the snow. The sleigh easily holds 4 adults and 2 small children.
