WESA’s Summer Soccer Clinics

WESA’s Summer Soccer Clinics are back for 2019!
New and improved structure to help develop the new soccer player as well as the experienced player. Improve your soccer skills all summer long. Ages 6-18. New for 2019, Goalkeeper Training Clinics with Amy Bell, Western Colorado University Womens Head Soccer Coach. These weekly clinics are exclusively designed for goalkeepers both new and experienced. WESA will also be offering week-long camps August 5-9 to get your kids ready for the Fall Season. WESA believes that every player is unique we coach base on players needs. No coaching method fits all! Our coaches have been through nationally recognized courses along with in-house training to make them knowledgeable coaches on current coaching methods. Questions? Camp CB & Mountain Adventures at CBMR

Your kids’ favorite ski instructors are sticking around this summer for a whole new adventure!  Camp CB offers quality childcare and memorable summertime experiences for ages 3 to 14. Campers can choose from lift rides, nature hikes, Adventure Park activities, sports and more. For ages 3 to 4, the Mini Camp program is designed for the younger age group to allow the counselors to structure the same activities around their interest and energy levels. Experience the mountains, rivers, lakes, crags, trails and scenery by river raft, foot, on a mountain bike, in a canoe, with a fly-rod in hand, or high on a cliff, zipline or chairlift! For its seventh summer, Mountain Adventures for children ages 7 to 14 will be based out of Crested Butte Mountain Resort with access to the CBMR Adventure Park, chairlifts and on-resort activities. Ms. Amanda's Rock Academy

Rising 3rd-5th Graders | Monday – Friday, 9am – 12pm | $250

Rising 6th-9th Graders | Monday – Friday, 1pm – 4pm | $250

Ms. Amanda’s School of Rock is a fun and exciting opportunity for kids to immerse themselves in music this summer. The program is designed to introduce kids to the basics of guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and singing. By learning the basics of each instrument, students can identify one that resonates with them the most and hone their musical skills. Throughout the week students will be given group and individual instruction. At the end of the week, they will celebrate the progress with a mini concert, where each child will perform with a band and showcase their talents. Junior Golf Clinics

The Club at Crested Butte offers Junior Golf Clinics for all ages and abilities throughout the Summer. (Ages 7-10)
Clinics are packed with engaging activities to motivate the beginner golfer to learn and to enjoy the sport. Participants will progress his or her fundamentals, body awareness, and athletic ability. Additionally, junior golfers will learn rules, etiquette, and history of the game of golf. Participants will have a 6:1 child to instructor ratio.

Junior 4-Day Camp (Ages 7-13)
Join us for an exciting four-day camp where participants of any skill level will progress their knowledge, skills, and understanding of golf.  June 10th, 11th, 12th, & 13th 9am-12pm.  Price: $375

Crested Butte Library

The Crested Butte Library presents its annual Summer Reading Program. This year’s theme is “A Universe of Stories!” We will have regular children’s programming all summer, including Story Time on Fridays at 10 a.m. (all-ages); Baby & Toddler Story Time on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. (ages birth to 3). Remember First Friday Family Films starting at 7 p.m. on the first Friday of every month, when we show a kid-friendly movie, upstairs on the big screen. We will have Special Events all summer long, so please follow us on Facebook (@Crested Butte Old Rock Library) or check our website (gunnisoncountylibraries.org) for details. Kids may register, in person at the CB Library for the Summer Reading Program starting June 7 and begin their reading logs; online registration will start Friday, May 31. Please join us on Monday, June 10 at 6 p.m. for our Summer Reading Program, kick-off party; we’ll have snacks, signups, and books, of course! You can stop by the Library anytime (we have LOADS for kids to do: puzzles, lego kits, building materials, art supplies, tablets, etc.), and find out why Libraries have a “Universe of Stories” to explore! Important reminder: children younger than age nine must be accompanied by a caregiver 12 years or older when at the Library.

Bluegrass Kids Camp

July 10-14, 2022, 9:00-4:00, M-F. Queen Bee’s Kids Bluegrass Camp is a fun, week-long music camp that provides kids (ages 7-15) an amazing experience in bluegrass music education. Led by teachers Bonnie Sims, Taylor Sims, Karina Wilson, and Brian Nelson, students learn to play in a bluegrass band with other students, write songs and advance their individual skills through instrument break-out sessions. The day camp offers training for first-timers as well as intermediate players.

Crested Butte Mountain Theater

YouTheatre Camp is July 10th-21st and is open to ages 8-14. This unique performing and visual art workshop, introduces students to the theatre basics including respect for one another, and for the performance space, working together, preparedness for a role, and how one rehearses and performs a play. Activities will include introduction to being on the stage, and behind the scenes; everything from skits, music, and improv games, to makeup, masks, and sound & lights. $500 for a 2 week session. 

Crested Butte Mountain Theater

Crested Butte Mountain Theater presents Theatre Imagination and Creation Camp in collaboration with The Trailhead Children's Museum. Calling all actors, actresses, and artists! The Crested Butte Mountain Theater and the Trailhead Children’s Museum are combining forces to offer a unique performing and visual arts camp. In this two week session, students will spend half of the day with the CBMT, learning the various components and roles that go into a theater production, along with games and activities that stimulate and nurture their imaginations! Open to rising 1st-3rd Graders and rising 3rd-5th graders for $600 two week sessions. More information, registration, and payment options can be found at this link.

Mountain Roots

Explore your world! In our traveling summer field adventure camps, we explore forests, fields, rivers, streams, meadows, trails, lakes, animal habitats, wetlands, farms, and even kitchens throughout the valley. We weave in nature-based art, cooperative games, cooking, and other fun experiences in the natural world. Younger children discover nature by planting, tending, and harvesting our organic gardens. Dig, Plant, Grow (K-2); Summer Field Adventures (gr. 2-6); Farm-to-Market Specialty Camp, a full week of farm stand fun (gr.4-7); Teen Farm Overnights (ages 10+), Backcountry Cooking (gr.5-8). RMBL’s Youth Nature & Science Programs

Experience field science taking place in the Gothic area while learning from the researchers working at Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory. Topics change every day of the summer! Through scientific inquiry, outdoor exploration, arts and games, youth engage with the spectacular mountain ecosystems of Colorado. Offerings include:

Introduction to Field Biology for students entering grades 10-12, July 29-August 9;

Project Eco-STEM for students entering grades 6-8, July 22-26;

Science Camp any T, W, or Th for students entering grades 3-5, June 11-August 8; and

Nature Camp any M, T, W, Th or F, June 10-August 9.

For families with children in preschool and younger, we offer Seedling Scientists on select Mondays.

Discover the practices of science while having fun outside! Nature & Science Camp schedules vary – M, T, Th, F, 8:20 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. ($55) or Wednesdays, 8:20 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. ($75). This schedule includes bus ride from CB 4-Way Stop to Gothic. Register online at

Good Life Girls, Girls Adventure Program

Good Life Girls is a girls adventure program for ages 7-14 in the Gunnison Valley. Our mission is to inspire all girls to live the good life by being true to themselves through confidence, positivity, self-love, kindness, and respect. Using our Move, Learn, Grow approach, we integrate outdoor adventure, creative projects, and interpersonal development activities. We always focus on a daily theme, examples include confidence, gratitude, empathy, and nature connection. Our activities include paddleboarding, hiking, biking, camping, climbing, yoga, art, journaling, cooking, science, and wilderness skills.

From June 15th – August 24th, we offer programs on Saturdays from 9am-5pm, select overnight camping trips from 9am Saturday-12pm Sunday, and Tuesday evening workshops from 6pm-9pm. We are excited to offer a scholarship program for families needing financial assistance!

We are excited to announce we have expanded our offerings to include short-term gear rentals so that tourists can enjoy the conveniences of home when traveling with “littles”. Little Red Schoolhouse

We are a privately owned preschool and infant/toddler center located in CB South – 6 miles south of town – in a beautiful mountain setting. Little Red opened in 2001 with Teeny Red following in 2008, and it’s been a wonderful journey. We accept children as young as 3 months all the way up to Kindergarten age.
