Gunnison Area

Experience the spectacular scenic areas around the Gunnison.

The Gunnison area is truly a great place to call home. The City of Gunnison is home to Western State Colorado University, Gunnison Valley Hospital, and Gunnison-Crested Butte Airport.  It was almost the capital of Colorado! Gunnison has a personality that is separate, and different from its smaller sister to the north.  The city itself offers a wonderful variety of shops. Small boutiques line main street with Walmart just around the corner. Also, Gunnison has an increasing number of good restaurants, as well as, a thriving arts scene.

The area surrounding Gunnison offers rolling pastures, hills of sagebrush, and world class fishing.  Located near town is Colorado’s largest boy of water. Blue Mesa Reservoir spans 20 miles and boasts over 95 miles of shoreline. The town of Almont is between Gunnison and Crested Butte. This is where the Taylor River comes together with the Slate River to create the Gunnison River.

The Ohio River Valley winds its way from Highway 135 up to meet Kebler Pass. It offers everything from small ranchettes, to large working ranches, to wilderness properties that are only accessible during the warmer months.

With truly outstanding and spectacular scenic areas, gold medal and wild trout waters, and great recreation, the Gunnison area may be the perfect place for your Colorado home.
