Homes, townhomes & condominiums surrounding the Robert Trent Jones designed golf course at The Club at Crested Butte . The Club at Crested Butte provides a nice balance between being close to town, as well as, having some space around you to enhance your views. The Skyland Homeowner’s Association has requirements for shingle roofs and a certain percentage of exterior stone on each building. These regulations, make the look and feel of the area different from a lot of other Crested Butte subdivisions. The Skyland Lodge offers small studio condos located right across the street from the clubhouse.
The Links, Golf Villas and others are town-home style residences. They are managed by a homeowner’s association for maintenance and care. Homes in the area range from those located on the flanks of Crested Butte Mountain nestled in the aspens bordering the upper loop to homes right on the fairway to riverfront homes with access to world class fishing.
Residents of the subdivision have access to Grant Lake for canoeing and fishing, along with the pavilion there for private parties. The Rivergreen & Silver Sage subdivisions are located closer to the river than the mountain. They provide river access and are part of a smaller homeowners group.
Located just one mile outside of town, Riverbend and Slate River Estates offer the opportunity to be close to town, but have a little bit of space around you. Homes in Riverbend are on one acre lots that are flat and have few trees. Slate River Estates is 1/3 acre parcels adjacent to Riverbend. Access to town can be had year round without getting on the highway via a bike/walking path in the summer and via the Town Ranch cross country ski trail in the winter. There are two condominium complexes in Riverbend that provide the opportunity to enjoy the fishing rights and easy access without owning a single family home.
The areas newest development, Larkspur has paved roads, tennis courts and a private lake. The lots are small – a quarter acre or less, but the views are big. Only a few homes have been built here at this time. With nice building covenants in place, it is shaping up to be a very desirable neighborhood. The bus to Mt. Crested Butte and Gunnison stops out on Highway 135. It is just a short distance away. Otherwise, you can take the bike path into town if you don’t want to drive.
Developed around the private Crested Butte airstrip, Buckhorn Ranch has a variety of property types. There are lots available where you could build your home with a hanger to park your plane. If private fishing sounds appealing, the 1.25 acre parcels with a fishing membership and 360 degree views might be better for you. For a more affordable option, the smaller .17 acre lots will allow you the opportunity to build a home near open ranchland with great views. Existing homes in Buckhorn Ranch range from 2,000 square foot homes on .17 acres to 4,000 plus square foot homes on over one acre.
Stallion Park is a condominium project in Buckhorn Ranch. Originally, it was affordable housing for locals. That restriction has been lifted on some of the units. Stallion Park provides affordability close to town.
Riverland Industrial Park is located 1.5 miles from Crested Butte. It is home to a variety of businesses including Crested Butte’s only RV park, full service gym, large scale nursery, doggie daycare and many others. There are a few residences as well. As the name suggest,s it is located along the Slate River. Property owners here have access to some great fishing! This area as a few vacant lots available, as well as, a variety of commercial and/or industrial buildings.
